About Karen Jesin, M.Sc., S-LP(C), Reg. CASLPO, OSLA
I have practiced as a Speech-Language Pathologist for almost 30 years. I have helped a broad range of clients at various age groups and stages, and with a wide spectrum of communication disorders. My focus, however, is on helping children.
My approach is highly individualized, and involves learning as much as possible about each child, so that sessions can be tailored to maximize efficiency while enhancing comfort, confidence and enjoyment. I am a mother of three children, and not only understand the clinical needs of children but also understand family dynamics.
I have been in private practice since 1996, focusing on pediatric communication disorders associated with:
- Articulation Delays
- Cleft Palate
- Tongue Thrust
- Delayed Language Development/Late Talker
- Receptive Language Disorders
- Expressive Language Disorders
- Attention Deficit Disorders
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Voice Disorders
- Stuttering Disorders
I assess communication ability and diagnose speech and language disorders such as articulation, language, voice and stuttering. I provide individualized habilitative programs which may include individual and/or group therapy as well as home programming. I provide consultation to parents, caregivers and teachers.
My office is in Toronto, in the Bathurst/Finch area of North York.
Education and Training
I graduated from Boston University with a Masters of Science Degree in Communication Disorders. I have trained in several of Toronto’s leading health care institutions, including The Hospital for Sick Children, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital.
Professional Affiliations

I work co-operatively with other professionals as appropriate.
